A Century ago Hans W. Maier Published a Textbook on Cocaine

This new book published in June 2026 commemorates the work done a century ago by Hans Wolfgang Maier, a Swiss Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Zurich University Psychiatric Hospital Burghölzli, who published a detailed textbook on Cocaine, with the hope that - once the danger of this addictive drug are known and understood - it will be retrieved from the pharmaceutical market. Needless to say that his hope had been an illusion of an idealistic person.
